Eligibility and Sign-Up
ONEBANQ is for Nigerians aged 18 and over with a verifiable income, a BVN and a government-issued ID (NIN, international passport, driver's licence or voter's card). There is no narrow profile. The common thread among our users is being creditworthy yet underserved by traditional banks.
Your phone number and email, your BVN and a government-issued ID for identity verification, a quick liveness check, and some basic profile and income details. We pull your verified name from NIBSS so it is always correct.
They confirm that you are really you, which keeps your account and your credit safe. Before any of this, we ask for your explicit consent and record it, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023.
Not yet. At launch ONEBANQ is available in Nigeria only.
The Card and Your Credit
We earn from small, transparent fees rather than interest on your balance. You see those fees before you ever accept a card, and nothing grows with how long you take to repay.
We assess your profile and income to set a limit that fits you. When you are approved, your limit is the first thing you see. If we cannot approve you yet, we tell you why and what could help next time.
A physical Verve card, accepted across Nigeria. You can freeze it, set a per-transaction limit, change your PIN and track every transaction from the app.
Transfers inside ONEBANQ are instant and free using a tag or phone number. ONEBANQ is built around your card and wallet rather than general bank-to-bank transfers.
Fees and Repayment
A one-time card issuance fee, a small monthly maintenance fee, and a 3% fee on each transaction, capped at ₦5,000. That is the whole list. See the pricing page for the figures.
Your statement arrives monthly with a fixed due date. You can repay manually from the app at any time, or turn on autopay so it is handled for you. Your statement always shows your spending, fees, total due and due date in one place.
We send clear reminders first. If a balance stays unpaid, card spending is temporarily paused and comes back as soon as you are up to date. No interest builds up and no one harasses you. We follow FCCPC guidelines throughout.
Security and Your Data
Yes. We use biometric login and transaction PINs, and you can freeze your card instantly. We handle your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA); see our Privacy Policy.
From the app you can view your consent history, export your data, request corrections, or ask us to erase your data. Some records are kept where the law requires it, for example while a balance is owed.
There is a Help and Support hub in the app where you can raise and track a complaint, free of charge. We acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 48. If you are not satisfied, you can escalate to the FCCPC at no cost. See Complaints & Disputes for the full process.
